Barentz North America Receives Gold Level 2022 EcoVadis Sustainability Rating for ESG Program

Barentz North America, a leading distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemicals across North America, is proud to announce that it has been granted Gold Level recognition from EcoVadis for its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program. This is the sixth consecutive year in which Barentz North America has received EcoVadis certification for its leading ESG program.

Through the comprehensive EcoVadis CSR assessment, Barentz North America was rated on 21 CSR indicators within Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement categories. After being evaluated on how well these CSR principals are integrated into its ISO certification and NACD Responsible Distribution practices, as well as its corporate policies and practices, Barentz North America was presented with a Gold Level recognition, placing it in the top 93rd percentile of all globally rated ESG programs.

EcoVadis' mission is to make sustainability performance measurable, to make transparency a scalable and efficient process for both suppliers and customers, and to facilitate continuous improvement and innovation. The methodology for rating companies is built on the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000, which covers 198 spend categories and 155 countries.
